History

Cornish Concrete Products Ltd was founded in 1978 and has grown to become an established force in the precast concrete industry with projects undertaken in all areas of the United Kingdom.

CCP is a family owned business which started out by manufacturing spiral stair treads for another company. Over the years the product mix has turned full circle and of the products manufactured in the early years at Ponsanooth, only the spiral stairs remain.

In 1985, the company moved to its current premises at Bissoe on the site of a former tin stream works (pictured above), where gradually structural products such as prestressed floors and precast staircases were introduced, along with a burgeoning reputation in the civil engineering sector.

During the 1990’s capacity grew as both the original manufacturing shed was extended and a new production facility including tilting tables to manufacture wall elements including Thermowall insulated sandwich panels was added. With the growth of distribution centres, the company moved into the dock leveller and industrial shed markets, whilst never losing touch with its ability to produce bespoke architectural and structural precast concrete.

Following years of consolidated growth and investment, in 2008 CCP opened a new state of the art carousel plant, the first of its kind in the UK. The plant primarily produces crosswall construction products for whole building solutions including Thermowall insulated sandwich panels, Demidec floors and Twin Wall construction.

Today, CCP has grown its business through the recession and is now one of the UK's leading architectural and structural precast concrete manufacturers.
