Cornish Concrete Products Ltd, a family owned business, was founded. Started out manufacturing spiral staircases in Ponsanooth near Truro.
1985
Relocated to Bissoe near Truro on a site of a former tin stream works. Added facilities for prestressed T beam flooring.
1989
Introduced hollowcore floor bed and increased production on stairs.
1995
Production Unit 1 constructed to increase production on T Beams and general concrete products. Variable stair moulds introduced.
2001
Acquired additional land increasing site area to 7.5 Acres.
2005
Constructed Production Unit 2 to manufacture bespoke concrete products and sandwich panels. First buildings in sandwich panels constructed for Truro College.
2007
Established in house design capability.
2008
Constructed Production Unit 3 complete with automated carousel plant becoming first UK manufacturer of twin wall products. SWRDA grant awarded in support of new facility in support of innovation for Cornwall.
2010
Two new colleges constructed from sandwich panels.
Tekla Structures introduced in house to satisfy BIM Level 2 compliance.
2016
Further land purchase taking site area to over 9.5 Acres. Production Unit 3 doubled in size to accommodate increase in production of sandwich panel and twin wall products.
2017
Remains a family owned business. Achieved turnover of +61% compared with 2007.
2019
Awarded Multiple Concrete Society Awards for UCL New Student Centre,
Royal College of Pathology and Hawley Wharf, Camden.
2020
Installation of Solar Array: CleanEarth Energy – 205 roof-mounted panels to provide 75k kilowatt hours of electricity per year, saving 480 tonnes of carbon emissions over the lifetime of the system.
